Kudos on Confederate Admiral's Regatta

MSSC's Confederate Admiral's Regatta is always an outstanding event, and the last one was exceptional. Steve Blazier has gotten this event down pat! We had more visitors than members, but from their comments, this regatta is a regional favorite. We really enjoyed meeting people from other clubs. Masterful chefs Barbara Glenn and Barbara McCollum served up tasty meals, and Nolan Richards and committee did a great job running the races, with and without wind. The trophies were delightfully artistic and interesting -- and most everyone got a prize just for staying for supper. The entertainment was fantastic! The temperatures were nice, so we didn't swelter, and it was fun watching kids play in the yard! Thanks to all who pulled it off, but especially to Steve for establishing such an excellent regatta reputation! He makes MSSC look mighty good.

Several member families stayed afterward on Sunday afternoon for a lively discussion about the big clubhouse decisions we will soon be making. Lots of information and good ideas were exchanged. Architect Rich Lyles was there too, just to answer questions. It was an altogether fine weekend!
